Meet the Team

Walter H. Levie Jr., DDS

A native of LaFayette, Dr. Chip Levie has been practicing general, cosmetic, and family dentistry for nearly 40 years. A third generation dentist, Dr. Levie received his Bachelor of Science degree from Emory University and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the Emory University School of Dentistry.

Dr. Levie is dedicated to not only cosmetic transformations, but the overall health and well-being of every patient he sees. As a result, Dr. Levie pursues the most advanced continuing education opportunities available in order to provide his patients with the best care using the most current techniques, procedures, and technologies. Dr. Levie has also taken numerous courses at the prestigious Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida to help his patients maintain their oral health with maximum comfort, function, and aesthetics. This calculated approach allows Dr. Levie to treat the teeth, muscles of mastication (i.e., chewing muscles), and temporomandibular joint (“TMJ”) harmoniously for more stable and long-term results.

Dr. Levie is an active member of the First Baptist Church of LaFayette where he serves on numerous committees. Over the years, Dr. Levie has taken part in mission trips both nationally and internationally. He currently lives on the farm with his wife, Debra, where he raised his two grown sons, Trey and Ty. In his free time, Dr. Levie enjoys hunting, fishing, wood working, managing his farm, and spending time with with dogs, Daisy Mae and Truman.

Dr. Ty Levie joined our practice after graduating from the Indiana University School of Dentistry. Ty was born and raised in LaFayette, Georgia where he grew up idolizing his father, Dr. Walter H. Levie, Jr., playing sports, and dreaming of one day becoming a dentist in his hometown of LaFayette.

Ty attended the Baylor School in Chattanooga where he excelled in not only academics but also football. He lettered three seasons and was named an all-state player in Tennessee his final two seasons. Upon graduation, Ty received a football scholarship to attend Samford University.

Ty graduated, cum laude, from Samford University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. At Samford, Ty was inducted as a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society. Outside of the classroom, Ty excelled on the football field as a four-year varsity letterman. Ty was nominated as the September 2008 Athlete of the Month for the Southern Conference and was awarded the Gary Cooney Scholastic Award which is presented to the Samford football player with the highest grade point average.

While at Samford, Ty’s commitment to public service expanded beyond the classroom. Not only did Ty volunteer as an academic tutor for Samford student-athletes, he was also elected team leader of a Habitat for Humanity project. Ty traveled to the remote villages of Mongolia on a dental mission trip and also volunteered at various non-profit organizations, including the Dr. William Roy Mercy Dental Clinic in Chattanooga where he recognized an increased need for dental access for many individuals. In preparation for dental school, Ty served as a microbiology research assistant at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry.

Ty received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Indiana University School of Dentistry. While in dental school, Ty volunteered for various organizations and regularly traveled within the greater Indianapolis area to provide dental services to low-income patients. During Ty’s fourth year, he was selected to serve as a teaching assistant to the first-year dental class with its pre-clinical hands-on courses. Ty was inducted as a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a dental honor society, which recognizes students with high scholarship, character, potential for leadership, and who are in the top 12% of the graduating class.

Ty’s professional affiliations include the American Dental Association and the Georgia Dental Association.

Aside from practicing dentistry, Ty is a member of Peavine Baptist Church. He currently lives with his wife, Alli, and their two dogs, Oakley and Waylon in Chattanooga, Tn. Ty enjoys working out, hunting, and spending time with his friends and family.
